Computers!!!

So I've really enjoyed having my laptop, but there is a current frustration. I thought I had a virus, but it comes to find out my hard drive just crashed... Being totally computer illiterate, this was not my ideal situation.

There have been some very nice people up here in Logan that are helping out, but the situation is still a little frustrating. I just got the computer in May 2008. You would think this would all be covered by a warranty, but guess who lost her warranty??? Yep, you guess it, ME! But at least it's still good until this next May.

So instead of showing some cheesy picture of someone being frustrated about their computer crashing (because there was a plethora or cheesy pictures to choose from), I'll let you insert your own visual frustration...

But to resolve the conflict, I bought a new hard drive and it will all be solved shortly, I hope? But I hope the next posting will be from my new and improved laptop :)

Thanksgiving Surprise!

Thanksgiving is really a superior holiday. Everybody can go on and on about Christmas or even their own birthday, but hands down, Thanksgiving is by far the best holiday. I mean, you get a smorgasbord of food, gathering of family, but I have to say that the best part for this year is... I got engaged! Who would have thought that that would happen? But it's true. I got proposed to last night... going on "a walk" after all the Thanksgiving eating.

And, by far the best part is that it was after all the family left to go home. Yes, I had my fair share of teasing... "Sarah, where's your ring?" "Sarah, there's a spare wedding dress upstairs." "Sarah, why are you hiding your hand?" Well, what a good revenge to have to make them wait till the next day to find out after hours of teasing.

You might argue with me about the hierarchy of the holidays, but for me I think it's going to be Thanksgiving!

Playing in the Leaves

So once we got back from Pennsylvania I had to go back to work, but on the Wednesday before Jason left, we made a visit to Morgan. But John and Penny just had a baby the beginning of October, so I needed to see little baby Samantha. I didn't know that my sisters Lillie and Susie would be coming so It was a pleasant surprise to have 4 out of the 6 siblings there. Here are some pictures of the great day in Morgan.

Here's the newest addition to the Pincock family in Morgan. Samantha. Born a day before her big brother, Jacob's birthday. She's super sweet and small.

But there was plenty of leaf raking. And of course I had to be convinced to play in the leaves.

And then the following leaf battle ensued... I'm pretty sure I won... because I had the most leaves all over me!

It was a great day to finish up a great two weeks I got to spend with Jason.

And for good measure, here are some other pictures of some cute little kiddies.

A Little Stroll in the East

So I went to Pennsylvania the first week in October. My first time on the east coast. Its pretty much different from Utah. Basically to get to the point, here are some pictures of my travels, cos really that's all the people look at anyway...

Jason and me went and saw all his early year haunts. This is the playground to his elementary school. It also had the cross country course really close by that we walked that as well. Everybody loves a good jaunt through a woodsy area and some play time on this super slider thing. As you can see by the look on my face I'm either utterly terrified or on the other side of the spectrum, totally digging the ride. I scoot a little better than Jason... OK, not really, but I can pretend.

The next adventure was Gettysburg. It was about 30 minutes (ish) away from Jason's house so it was a must on the agenda. This is a picture of the whole gang that went to Gettysburg. Starting on the left, Jason's brother Rob, Rachel, Karen, Kate on the lap, Morgan, Jared, Vo Nique, Beth, Cardell, ME, Mary, Jason, and Laura. This is a wall surrounding the cemetery there.

This just shows how in Pennsylvania (and maybe in the East in general) how the skies are pretty, but kind of hazy and fuzzy. You don't get a crisp sunset, and the colors are a little dull compared to Utah sunsets. But there's lots of fields and prettiness that Utah can only dream to achieve. Pretty mild, but still real pretty.

This is where the wedding reception was. We were decorating, but got distracted with these rollers. Of course there had to be a challenge to see who was the best, the faster, the greatest (no pressure at all) and Jason cheated, but the last picture really shows the true winner... ME!!!! While Jason lays on the floor in defeat.

But later we went to Washington DC. Never in my life did I think I would go there. Here is me and Jason. We were pretty tired. We had to wake up at 5 to take people to the airport (that means 3 am Utah time). We were pretty sleepy and tired by 2 pm...

Here's the Capitol Building with a nice reflecting pool... you get the idea!

Well, here's some wedding pictures. This is Jason's whole family... and I just happened to be included in the pictures (you can assume and insinuate all you want about that).

But the last of my adventures was cutting hair. I cut my first person's hair and I didn't to a bad job, but it wasn't perfect. You can see the before and after pictures. Jason's mom was pretty happy that he was getting a hair cut...

Before

After

I did a pretty good job. Fun trip, and fun memories.

My Latest Hair-Brain Adventure!

So with the abundance of time I have on my hands, I have been visiting some friends up here in Logan. One of these fateful house calls was to my dear friend Colette. It's always a guaranteed good time with Colette. There was a tasty treat made from Fiber-One Cereal, marshmallows and peanut butter. It was a surprisingly good concoction.

But Colette was having a BLAH day so it ended up that we would cut my hair to cheer her up. When she was my roommate, I had beautiful hair that whole year. So when this proposition came up I knew this was a good deal. Even as attached as I was getting to my long hair.

So this is the before, to show how long my hair was getting. It's been a long road to get to this length...

It was getting so long... oh well, that's the beautiful thing about hair is that it will always keep growing. So this is the hair that I apparently didn't need. It made quite the nice little gathering on the floor.

But I know you are all waiting for the finished look. Let me just inform you that Colette has a gift for creating masterpieces!!!

So I now have a swoopy bang that likes to fall in my face and the rest of my hair is short enough to tickle my nose constantly. But hey! It's all worth it for this hair. I tip my hat to you Colette!

I'm Just So Incredibly Bored!!!

So, now that I'm back In Logan, I'm just kind of waiting to get a job. I've applied for several, but it's the wait mode. Let's just say...I'm incredibly bored now!!!

I think this picture kind of demonstrates it all...just very bored! So impressive updates. No exciting Labor Day events. I basically went to Morgan and visited my brother and sister-in-law. The little kiddies were very cute.

But now I'm just waiting for a job...so let's see how I occupy my time.

Things That Sound Fun to Do, But in Reality...

So this is a segment I would like to call Things that sound fun to do, but in reality really aren't! One Saturday me and my roommate decided it would be oh so much fun to have rag curls. Like the ones on Little Women or like Shirley Temple. The thought was to have cute curly for church the next day. So all day long I did prep work by tearing up an old sheet into strips. Then later that night we read all the instructions we could find and we put our hair in rags.

I felt like we did an awesome job. When I couldn't reach the back my roommate helped out, and vice versa. It was quite the group effort. And really form these pictures wouldn't you say I look so darling!!! Well, I went to bed and awaited for great results... And this is what the next day produced...

This is just beyond ridiculous. I had hair like Charlie from the old Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie. Just ridiculous. The worst part is that my roommates hair was cute little ringlets and mine was a mountain of poof!!! I also had to teach in Relief Society, too, so I have no idea why I thought this would be a good thing to do at all. The irony!

Recapping the Summer

Now that I've been back for almost two weeks from camp, I've made a little special treat. My first attempts of making a movie all by myself. I usually make movies with my friend Colette, but she's unfortunately in St. George right now. And really I wanted to do this myself!

So here's some pictures from my summer. Some might look familiar, and of course I had to pick music that I was just introduced this summer. So enjoy some of my memories in this 2 1/2 minute recap of my summer 2008.

I love the 80's

So on 08-08-08 at 8PM, my family celebrated the decade of the 80's. I love the music, but I could really do without the clothes and hair. I sure had fun ratting my hair, but the make-up was a killer.

I think the belt made my outfit. But look at the kid next to me (Jason)... exactly like the DEVO "Whip It" music video.

The similarities are quite frightening!!! Note the tan line even. It's amazing. We were at DI, and I was just going to get a terracotta flower pot and paint it red, but no... we turn the corner and a bright red cake pan in the perfect shape was patiently waiting for us to pick it up. Now that was the amazing part.

But overall, the party was loads of fun. Good music, food 80's food, and to boot we watched Better Off Dead. Too much Aquanet equivalences were used that day.

Copalicious

My last Wednesday of fun I did COPE...don't ask me what t stands for, but you get to do things with harnesses and high telephone poles. Ok so that's a stupid explanation, but its uber fun!!!! Here are my photos as proof.

This is an awesome picture of me flailing about on the zip line. Now I bet you are all jealous of my skills, but it really was a lot of fun. I was a little nervous when I had to jump from a very high platform into the deep unknown...but I survived.

Next picture...

...an assortment of staff members waiting to go on the "Flying Squirrel." With this one you get shot into the air, kind of like a flying squirrel. Funny how they name things. But just what you've been waiting for is a beautiful picture of me on this contraption. I was described as being a "rag doll" while flying through the air.

Most of all, I love the butt shot...Let's just say I wasn't the one taking the picture :(

Well, that's my fun life... I'm on my way back to Utah in less than 12 hours. Long drive here I come!

Summer coming to an end

So I'm in my last week of camp. Just truckin'. So I get to have a luau at the waterfront on Wednesday and a Christmas party. Good times in my area. Other than that here are some pictures of some of my recent fun.

This is my friend Fishy-Fish. Most of the staff went on a field trip to a miniature golf place that glows in the dark. We had good time, other than the fact that I look kind of creepy! But I got that orange shirt at a thrift store for like a buck... lovin' every minute of it!

We went to see the new Batman movie... and of course I went with a group that dressed up. I only shook my head on shame for a minute or two. We went to the 11:30 PM showing, so for as exciting as it was... I still fell asleep a couple of times... I'll just have to watch it again, oh drat!

Well, one last week, but should be a good one. Let's see what happens in the next couple of days. I'll be in Utah by the next time I upload any pictures. Till then...

My Fairytale Life

So I went driving about this last Wednesday on a very random trip. We went to this place called Storybook Island. Lots of little kids stories and stuff like that. But of course we had to take a family picture on the way there. Some of my favorite kids: Backseat, right to left= Curly, Chuck, and Fish, Passenger= Forrest. Obviously we have good ole camp names... and I won't lie, this is not a very flattering picture of myself.

But hey, I won't complain. Basically we got there to Storybook Island and we only had 10 minutes before the park closed. We had to race through all the sights and take random pictures. If you can just imagine 4 guys and 1 girl skipping around merrily in a children's play park you can envision us taking our reader's digest version of the place.

It was short trip, but very fun. Fish and Curly always crack me up!!! And I guess until next Tuesday.
