I Guess I'm a Monkey Girl

So I got to go climbing for the first time in my life. I'm not the most comfortable with heights, but lets just say the second time I went up the wall, I went all the way to the top. Pretty much impressive.

So it may not look that impressive, but I am about 15-20 ft up...so really I don't know the exact height, but I sure wasn't looking down when I got all the way to the top. I got to connect to another rope to repel down. Overall, I got very sunburned on my legs, a nice scratch on my hand, and a lot of fun.

Other than that, we are in the second week of camp with scouts here, and I'm officially done. We've had hail, we've had sleet. The water has been so cold I'm still shivering. And to boot, I get to deal with irate scoutmasters who think its stupid that I have to close down waterfront because there's thunder. I love my job. Let's just say this has been a trying week, and its only Tuesday. This is the week with the most scouts, so it should be down hill once this week is over.

Well, that's my week so far, but I'm hoping it will be turning for the better soon :)

My Drive to SD

So I'm finally going to post some stuff about my drive!!! It ended up being 10 hours. It went by pretty quick and the GPS helped a whole bunch. I only got lost a couple of times...JK. So just in case you are wondering, yes, I am driving very safe and talking a picture of myself. I'm pretty much smart... Or I guess I'll let you be the judge of that. I only had to stop 3 times, so I made excellent timing.

It was pretty rainy that day, but nothing I couldn't handle. The only bummer I had was that my tire apparently went flat by the time I got to camp...or it was still good till the next day... so I'm in the process of getting a new tire because I never have luck with tires :(
So I've been stranded at camp. But the staff is pretty fun. A whole bunch are from Utah, so that's nice. But overall, good times (Aside from the weather)

So I went caving last Saturday. These are two of the craziest kids. The one next to me is Fish and the one on the right is Brad. All I can say is that they are frequently cracking me up, especially Fish (if you can't tell by the picture he's pretty much eccentric). So this is the before picture and here I am after...

Pretty much I was dirty all over with a nice dirt lipgloss on and my hair was super grimey. Oh well, there's nothing like going caving with a bunch of guys (yep, I was the only girl on staff that went). My next adventure will hopefully be climbing or zip line stuff...

But for all you who know my love of sleep, this will amazed you all... I get up everyday at 6:30 and have no nap (usually) and I'm not in bed till at least 11:30. That's the tiredest I've ever been in my life. But for all those people who thought I couldn't... well how do you like them apples?

Well, I'm off to figure out how to entertain about 250 scouts while it's raining, thundering, and lightning... we'll see how that goes.

Fun at the Zoo...Even at My Age

So there are just some necessary things you have to do at Hogle zoo, and since I couldn't get all chummy with the hippos this time, I had to head on over to the Lion drinking fountain. If you look close enough, well, you'll see an impressive water spillage down my chin. Anything for the camera, right?

But, the zoo just isn't what it was when I was a kid, but hey, at least that spinny gate that you exit through is still there. That's basically the best part!!!

I did see the Ghost of the Bayou... a pretty cool looking white alligator with blue eyes. Apparently if you stare into its eyes you will have good fortune for the coming year. Let's just say me and that gator had a staring contest, and I totally creamed that gator. He didn't even stand a chance. So the luck will be mine!
